Secure and individual – SecuSelect® window handles from HOPPE

Burglars will try several methods to get into the house through a window. If it cannot be pried open – perhaps because the homeowner was clever enough to use mushroom-head blocking devices – the next point of attack is the window handle. Just a small hole in the window glass is enough to reach the handle with a tool and try to move it.

The police recommend that a burglary-resistant window handle must “withstand a force of 100 Nm” – this means that a perpetrator will have to use a great deal of force to overcome the locking mechanism and turn the handle forcibly. The chances that a window can be opened in this way are already quite low in this case – they are even lower with a HOPPE window handle with SecuSelect® and Secu100® + Secustik®.

This is because the keyed cylinder is not located in the handle part, but in the rosett body. In other words, it is not the handle that is locked, but the rosette that holds the handle. If the burglar actually manages to apply enough force to turn the handle, the rosette remains on the window profile and continues to keep the window secure.

HOPPE window handle, Luxembourg series, silver effect (F1)
Feel secure at home: a window handle with SecuSelect® technology provides effective protection against forced opening of the window.

However, burglary protection only makes sense if it is easy enough to operate so that we actually use it. SecuSelect® window handles are therefore designed to be particularly user-friendly thanks to an extra-large reversible key and a push cylinder: they are locked at the push of a button and unlocked again with just half a turn of the key. You can also choose whether the keyed cylinder is to be located at the top or bottom of the rosette.

SecuSelect® window handles can be combined with a wide variety of handle shapes thanks to Quick-Fit technology.

SecuSelect® window handles offer another advantage: the rosette is equipped with Quick-Fit technology and can therefore be combined with a wide range of HOPPE handle models – even those that are otherwise only used for interior doors. This means that your favourite door handle can also be used on the window, for example, or each window can be equipped with customised handles – the design options are practically unlimited!
