Perfect for hygiene sensitive areas: SecuSan® handles at the eye hospital

Hygiene standards are particularly stringent in the hospital sector. When it comes to eyes in particular, a strict hygiene concept must be observed, because the eye is one of the most sensitive organs in the human body. The Neuchatelois d’Ophtalmologie (CNO) Centre, a private eye clinic in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, is therefore pursuing a special clean room concept designed to prevent eye infections during surgery.

Perfect for hygiene sensitive areas: SecuSan® handles at the eye hospital

The responsible architects specialise in the design of medical rooms and, when converting the building to a hospital at the end of 2014, advised that all doors be equipped with antimicrobial SecuSan® handles from HOPPE.

Silver ions in the finish of these handles immediately and permanently suppress the growth of germs on the handle. This makes it much easier to achieve a hygienic environment in all areas of the hospital, where around 150 to 200 patients are treated every day. The completely maintenance-free operating principle of SecuSan® handles also significantly reduces the workload of employees, who would otherwise face major challenges in light of the hospital’s absolute hygiene demands. And there’s something else that makes SecuSan® handles interesting: the requirements of grade 3 and 4 of category of use according to DIN EN 1906 with regard to stability and durability are fully complied with – ideal for areas with high traffic!

Absolute hygiene is an important requirement for successful and risk-free eye treatment.
