Processed data and purpose of processing

We process the information provided during the trade fair visit (e. g. from contact capture, memos, business cards etc.) exclusively for the fulfilment of the stated request. Contact is made by post, telephone or electronically. For the electronic processing of trade fair contacts, we use an external service provider as a processor on the basis of order processing in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR.

We also process trade fair photos and videos for internal and external communication, in particular for press and advertising purposes, editorial reporting and public relations. This includes use in all media, “offline” (e. g. print products such as brochures, flyers and other advertising materials) as well as ”online” (e. g. our website and our pages on social and professional networks). In addition to the digital recordings, metadata such as the date and time of the recording may be collected.

Even if we are primarily focused on the trade fair event and the trade fair presentation as such, trade fair visitors may be depicted in these images.

Legal basis of processing

The legal basis for the processing of trade fair contacts is the implementation of pre-contractual measures (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR). If you have consented to receive our newsletter or to receive further product information, the processing is also based on your explicit consent, which may have been given verbally (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR), which you can revoke at any time.

The legal basis for the production and publication of trade fair photos and videos, in which the persons are only depicted as so-called “accessories” of the event, is our overriding legitimate interest (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). Our legitimate interest lies in reporting on mass events and performances and using them for advertising purposes. Your privacy and confidentiality interests therefore take second place to our interests.

However, if photos and videos of individuals or small groups of people are made and published, who are prominent or recognizable, this is done exclusively on the basis of consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). This consent can be revoked at any time with effect for the future.

Deletion of your data

Your personal data will be deleted if the respective purpose of storage no longer applies and there is no legal regulation that requires storage.

Right to object

You have the right to object at any time to the processing of your data based on the legitimate interest (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). You can therefore object to taking photos and/or making videos in which you are depicted alone or in a (small) group at any time (e. g. by addressing the photographer directly or by signalling that you do not wish to be photographed). If you wish to declare your objection after your visit to the trade fair, you can also contact us directly (e. g. by e-mail to [email protected]). We will then delete all photos and videos in which you are recognisably depicted.

Your rights

In accordance with Articles 15 to 21 of the GDPR, you have a right of access to your saved data; you have the right to rectification of your data, restriction of processing, justified erasure, data portability and objection.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in accordance with Art. 77 of the GDPR if you believe that the processing of your personal data is not lawful.
