California Warning

To our Valued Customer:

As you are likely aware, the State of California has adopted new product warning and labeling requirements pursuant to the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, also known as Proposition 65 (“Prop 65”).

As required by Prop 65, this notice is to inform you that end users of the following products supplied by HOPPE may be exposed to the identified chemicals:

  • Door and window hardware made from stainless steel
    • Potential exposure to nickel
    • Affected product lines and product types
      • HLS locks, extensions and strike plates including HLS9000, HLS7, HLS-One and HLS9000 Sliding Door Locks
      • ARRONE locks, extensions and strike plates
      • ARRONE patio door rollers
      • Stainless steel handle sets
      • Applicable Prop 65 warning label:
    • Door and window hardware made from brass
      • Potential exposure to lead
      • Affected product lines and product types
        • Handle sets and strikes in the finishes ORB (F79), Unlacquered Brass (F71) finish, Dark Bronze (F881), Antique Bronze (F883)
        • Keys included in handle sets with keyed cylinders
        • Handle sets and brass-based strikes that have been painted, coated or plated where the painted surface, coating or plating has become damaged or worn to expose the brass base material.
        • Applicable Prop 65 warning label:

HOPPE North America will supply warning label materials to you, as required by Prop 65. Please note two different labels will be supplied. See above for the applicable label as it relates to the specific product. HOPPE North America will renew this notice by February 28, 2019, and then annually thereafter as required by the new Prop 65 regulations.
