Locking interior doors without a key – with MiniLock

If you are refurbishing your living space and like a sleek and subtle design, you will opt for interior doors without drilled keyholes. As these doors do not have escutcheons, the appearance of the handle is more prominent than on other doors. This creates a contemporary overall impression that matches minimalist interior design concepts well.

But how do you create privacy without a key in the door?

There are many solutions for lockable interior door handles that replace conventional key locks. However, the selection of handle shapes is often limited, and assembly can be complicated.

Our new MiniLock handle sets with lockable roses are an easy-to-install solution that is available for many HOPPE series and thus offers a vast selection of handle designs and finishes.

Easy to retrofit and quick to install

MiniLock is also easy to retrofit. If you already have a door without a drilled keyhole, it does not necessarily mean that you will not be able to lock the door. Simply replace the existing handles with MiniLock handle sets. Tip: Choose a handle design to match the windows!

Installing MiniLock is quick and simple – there is no special door preparation necessary. The supporting lugs of the two roses are pushed together through the drilled hole in the door. Then the lever that holds the spindle (i. e. the handle with fixed spindle) is inserted through both of the roses, afterwards, with just one screw, these are fastened to the door leaf. Now the receiver handle is put onto the spindle and both handles are pressed firmly together. Thanks to the integrated clamping mechanism, they sit stable on the door, free from play.

Something for everyone

MiniLock is available for many of our popular HOPPE series, including Amsterdam with its classic angled shape and the harmoniously designed Hamburg series. The still relatively recently launched Macau series with its elegant wedge-shaped handles is also available.

The selection is complemented by many attractive finishes: in addition to brushed stainless steel, matt black finishes and light brass tones, the product range also includes the new textured surfaces in sand grey, sand brown and sand black – particularly suitable for an industrial look.

Since all MiniLock roses are compatible with any pair of HOPPE Quick-Fit handles, all sorts of individual designs can be implemented.

Locking with the sliding button

Once everything is on the door – how does it lock from the inside? MiniLock does not actually lock the door, it locks the handle. There is a discreet, easy-to-reach sliding button on the escutcheon – a brief, intuitive upward movement of this button, e. g. with your thumb, is all it takes to lock the handle. Moving the button back down again lets the handle be operated again and the door can be opened.

MiniLock therefore is the practical solution from HOPPE to lock interior doors without a key. Plus, there is a small emergency release on the outside that that will unlock the handle with a screwdriver from the outside, if necessary.
