DIN EN 13126-3 and DIN 18267
The European DIN EN 13126 standard deals with the hardware for windows and door-high windows. Part 3 of this series of standards defines the requirements and test methods for handles, in particular for tilt-and-turn , tilt-first and turn-only hardware. The dimensional specifications are defined in DIN 18267.
DIN EN 13126-3 for window handles
The European standard DIN EN 13126 comprises 19 parts relating to hardware for windows and door height windows. Part 3 has been fully revised (April 2023 edition) and uses a 8-digit classification key to define requirements and testing procedures for handles, particularly Tilt and Turn, Tilt-First and Turn-Only hardware.
The details regarding the classification key, which has been harmonised for all sections of the standard, follow below.
The European standard DIN EN 13126 does not stipulate any requirements in terms of window handle dimensions. These requirements are defined in DIN 18267 (e.g., square spindle 7 mm, screw fixing distance 43 mm).
