2. Do you have a “right-hand” or “left-hand” door (according to DIN, German Industrial Standard)?

To be noted

In the case of certain curved handle designs for the interior door side you need to ensure whether you need left-hand or right-hand specification.

Example of a handle design where you need to be sure whether you need a right-hand or left-hand specification:

Handle showing to the left

Handle showing to the left

In order to ascertain which one you want, stand in front of the interior side of your entrance door and check whether the hinges are to the left or the right on the door. In the case of a DIN left-hand door you need a handle pointing to the left and in the case of a DIN right-hand door, a handle pointing to the right.

3. Which measurements are necessary when buying your Handle of excellence?

1) Spindle size:

spindle on the handle: 8 mm

spindle on the handle (i.e. spindle neck on the lock case) is normally 8 mm

spindle on WC knob: 5 mm

spindle on WC knob (i.e. spindle neck for WC knob on the lock case) is normally 5 mm diagonally

2) Door thickness:

Door thickness

For the correct spindle and screws, you need to know how thick your door is in mm. This may be 50-95 mm, depending on the door’s insulation properties.
On the HOPPE external door handle set, the packaging states the door thickness for which the handle set is designed.

In order to be able to choose the handles which are right for your doors, it’s important to compare the information from the check-list with the details on the packaging.

Appropriate mounting items as well as detailed assembly instructions can be found with every HOPPE product.

Window handles

4. Are you able to replace your window handles easily?

It’s easy to replace your present window handles with new ones, for example lockable window handles like Secu100® + Secustik® or Secustik®.

Turn the old handle to the opening position (horizontal). Then lift the cover cap slightly and rotate it by 90 °. Loosen the screw and remove the old handle. Now you can fit the new handle.
