Do you have a “right-hand” or “left-hand” door (according to DIN, German Industrial Standard)?
In cases of entrance doors to houses and flats, a knob is often fitted to the exterior side of the door. This prevents normal opening of the unlocked door.
In the case of certain curved handle designs for the interior door side you need to ensure whether you need left-hand or right-hand specification. Example of a handle design where you need to be sure whether you need a right-hand or left-hand specification:
Handle showing to the right
Handle showing to the leftIn order to ascertain which one you want, stand in front of the interior side of your entrance door and check whether the hinges are to the left or the right on the door. In the case of a DIN left-hand door you need a handle pointing to the left and in the case of a DIN right-hand door, a handle pointing to the right.
