Building project overview<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Commissioned by Shireland Multi Academy Trust and delivered by main contractor Tilbury Douglas, the 446-place school is designed to support a technology-led curriculum in a purpose-built environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The doors to Wednesfield Technology Primary<\/a> School in Wolverhampton first opened to its pupils in September 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ARRONE products were specified and supplied by Mark Parry at Locks and Fittings<\/a>, a family-run business based near the site and a long-term partner of HOPPE (UK).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a GAI-registered architectural ironmonger, Mark led the specification to ensure compliance with British Standards and meet the specific needs of a primary school.<\/p>\n\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Specification to suit a school environment<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The ironmongery specification was shaped by the practical demands of a primary school, where hardware must be functional, support safeguarding and remain straightforward for staff to manage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ARRONE AR6409B cam action door closers<\/a> were used throughout classrooms and on internal fire doors. Cam action closers offer lower resistance, making it easier for those less physically able or younger pupils to open the door while still maintaining the correct power to ensure the door closes correctly in the frame. This is critical in maintaining the door's integrity in the event of a fire.<\/p>\n\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n\n

ARRONE AR9616\/425BF<\/a> pull handles were specified in extended lengths to improve accessibility for a broad range of users. Their longer design makes them easier for both children and adults to grip and operate in a busy school environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ARRONE AR961-IND-TURN<\/a> non-coin turn and release set has been fitted to toilet doors in line with the Department for Education<\/a> requirement that schools use a bathroom lock that can be locked from the inside by turn or lever and released from outside by a non-coin slot key.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This allows authorised staff to gain emergency access using the appropriate release key while reducing the risk of misuse, tampering or improvised opening by pupils. These are particularly well suited to school environments, where privacy, supervision and safe intervention all need to be balanced.<\/p>\n\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n\n
