Security hardware can, however, only provide optimum protection when used in conjunction with all individual elements of a burglary-resistant door according to on the security requirements, the user can choose a security set with one of the available security classes (ES0\/SK1, ES0\/SK1, ES1\/SK2, ES2\/SK3, or ES3\/SK4 upon request).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The table above shows the performance and requirements of the 4 security classes. The drill protection of the exterior backplate of the security hardware and the connecting elements on the exterior backplate are to be secured in such a way as to hinder drilling (surface hardness 60 HRC).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The connecting elements (screws, spindle) must be made in such a way that the protective effect of the security hardware remains intact after impact tests.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Security sets according to these standards are to be identified with the name\/logo of the manufacturer, the security class and test number as well as the corresponding test and inspection mark with respective test number. Furthermore, they are to undergo continual internal and external testing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"col-12 col-md-3 text-center text-md-end\">\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"wp-bootstrap-blocks-container\">\n\t<div class=\"container\">\n\t\t\n<div class=\"wp-bootstrap-blocks-row row\">\n\t\n\n<div class=\"col-12 col-md-3 text-md-end\">\n\t\t\t\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">European and German standards for security hardware<\/h3>\n\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"col-12 col-md-6\">\n\t\t\t\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Annex A to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hoppe.com\/cn-en\/contacts-service\/standards\/din-en-1906\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"3371\">DIN&nbsp;EN&nbsp;1906<\/a> contains the requirements and test procedures for security hardware (the outline of \u201cburglary resistant\u201d features can be found in point&nbsp;7 of the classification key of DIN&nbsp;EN&nbsp;1906, find out more <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hoppe.com\/cn-en\/contacts-service\/standards\/din-en-1906\/din-en-1906-classification-key\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"3373\">here<\/a>). Tests relating to \u201coff-centred load\u201d, \u201cattack by chisel\u201d and \u201cstrength of the cylinder cover and resistance to drilling\u201d defined in DIN&nbsp;18257 have been incorporated into the European standard. One addition is the testing of backplate strength. In testing the strength of the fixing elements, laminated wood is placed between the tensile testing machine and the backplates of the security hardware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In order to comply with the demand for exchangeability of the hardware, the DIN&nbsp;18255 residual standard concerning dimensional requirements applies. This has been adapted to locks according to DIN&nbsp;18251 and profile cylinders according to DIN&nbsp;18252.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The German standard for DIN&nbsp;18257 security hardware has been revised and was published in March&nbsp;2003 as a residual standard. Here, concentration is on the above-mentioned dimensional requirements, the adaption to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hoppe.com\/cn-en\/contacts-service\/standards\/din-en-1906\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"3371\">DIN&nbsp;EN&nbsp;1906<\/a> as well as the maintenance of the ES security classes. The ES0 class does not provide sufficient burglary resistance yet there is demand for it in some European countries.
